Students Finish the 7th Yamaha VR46 Master Camp

Yesterday the 7th Yamaha VR46 Master Camp came to a close with a tour of the VR46 headquarters in Tavullia, followed by the traditional graduation ceremony and many presents.

The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp riders celebrated their graduation from the seventh edition at the VR46 Headquarters on Sunday, the last day of their programme.

VR46 Riders Academy Director Alessio ’Uccio‘ Salucci gave the students a quick tour of the premises that ended back in Valentino Rossi‘s office, for the traditional graduation ceremony, led by Yamaha VR46 Master Camp and Yamaha Motor Racing‘s Marketing & Communications Manager William Favero. The riders viewed a summary video of the last five special days, before being handed their official Yamaha VR46 Master Camp certificate of attendance and some extra gifts from VR46.

“The seventh Yamaha VR46 Master Camp might be our most successful edition yet”, said Salucci. “The riders we had were great and they really showed us their motivation to work hard and be professional. I‘m very satisfied with how well they adapted to the new experiences, and the progress we saw them make is fantastic. Now the riders go back home and prepare to continue to fight in their championship, and I hope the skills and techniques they were taught this week will help them. I want to thank the entire Yamaha and VR46 staff who made this programme possible. I‘m looking forward to the next edition of the Master Camp in September.”

“Another edition of the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp is over and, once again, it's superb to see the riders show such commitment. The Master Camp is not a fun holiday, the schedule is full-on, so it tests the riders‘ endurance. The riders, however, maintained a positive attitude throughout the whole week, and we were very impressed with their professionalism. I want to thank these five talents for their truly great efforts. Because of their hard work, the progress made in just five days is truly incredible and shows why the Master Camp programme, and also Yamaha‘s bLU cRU project, is so rewarding.

Yamaha is constantly looking for opportunitues to bring its racing endeavours to the next step, both on a short term and long term basis. In the last three years and over seven editions, the Master Camp has been an important tool to realise one of the key points, besides branding and techonology: supporting young talent, by allowing Yamaha Distributors to nominate them to travel to Tavullia and learn from the best riders and coaches in the world. We couldn't be happier that, so far, the Master Camp has been able to welcome 31 participants, including one female, from 13 countries, making it truly a global event.

Furthermore, on behalf of Yamaha I want to sincerely thank Valentino, Alessio Salucci, the whole VR46 staff, the VR46 Academy riders, who played a key role as instructors, as well as Carlo Casabianca, Marco Belli and Alessandro Marcianò. Also a big “THANK YOU” to Yamalube, Alpinestars, Akrapovic, Oakley, Pirelli, Descente, Saucony, Yamaha Italy‘s Marine Division and the Capitaneria di Porto di Pesaro, who‘s contribution to this project was vitally important.”

“It was a pity to end this amazing experience. This week has flown by so fast. I really enjoyed all the training sessions, and the ceremony at the end of it all was great. We saw a video of what we had done and all the memories we made, and it was very nice. I‘m really happy and once again I sincerely want to say ’Thank you‘ to Yamaha, VR46, and the Master Camp.”

“Day 5 was good, though also a bit sad. I enjoyed the ceremony a lot. The whole programme was very nice. I had an amazing time! Visiting the VR46 headquarters was incredible. The building and interior are very impressive, and watching the videos of this Master Camp together in Valentino‘s office was something special. I want to thank Yamaha and VR46 for the opportunity to take part in this Master Camp edition. You guys are amazing!”

“Day 5 was a sad day, because it was the last day. We had to say goodbye to everybody, and this made it very real suddenly that this amazing experience has finished. I‘m really happy that I was able to take part in the Master Camp programme. I want to say ’Thank you‘ to Yamaha‘s bLU cRU for this opportunity. It was amazing to spend time with the VR46 riders this week. I was really impressed by the VR46 headquarters, it was the perfect place to end this experience. I was able to express my appreciation for Yamaha, VR46, and the Master Camp staff in a short speech. For now, goodbye everybody, thank you for everything!”

“The tour at the VR46 Headquarters was nice, because we got to see where ’the big boss‘, Valentino, and the VR46 employees do all their work. Uccio gave us a tour and showed us things like Pecco Bagnaia‘s Moto2 championship winning bike, and he also showed us the storage, which is huge. I had never expected it to be that big. It was then I realized just how many clothes they are selling, and they also keep a lot of bikes and spare parts there. After the tour we received our Master Camp certificate, which was a special moment because it‘s only at that moment it hits you that the experience has come to an end. All the Master Camp riders did a little ’thank you‘ speech to thank the Yamaha, VR46, and Master Camp staff. It‘s been an incredibly fun week!”
