Five Rounds Left – Road America Next for Ruman and Trans Am

Amy Ruman heads to the Ryan Companies Road America Classic with momentum this weekend after her solid 4th place finish at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. This weekend’s race is Round 7 of the 2019 Trans Am Series Championship Presented by Pirelli, their 47th appearance at the renowned Wisconsin road course, once again running in conjunction with the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

“I love racing at Road America, it’s one of the tracks on the schedule that really allows us to use our horsepower in the No. 23 McNichols Co. Corvette and showcase how fast our TA cars are to the fans. Road America is a legendary, long, fast, 14-turn, 4.048-mile track with great passing zones, but it’s so fast that you have to be really aware because things are happing so quickly it can go wrong in a pinch,” stated Ruman. “I’m looking forward to the weekend; the weather looks to be perfect which equals lots of fans for us!”

57 competitors are entered for the event, with 14 running in Ruman’s TA class. The weekend will start off with a promoter test day and official practice one on Thursday, August 22nd. Practice two and qualifying will take place on Friday. The TA2 Ryan Companies Muscle Car Challenge race will be rather early, at 8:00am Saturday, followed by the TA/SGT/GT Ryan Companies 100 race at 11:40am CST, both at 101.2-miles, 25-laps – all times listed are Central Time.  Visit gotransam.com or roadamerica.com for ticket, full schedule, and all other weekend information.

With five rounds to go, the Championship race is heating up for the 2019 Trigon Trophy – Chris Dyson leads the TA class championship with 167 points, Ernie Francis Jr. is in second with – 162, Amy Ruman is third – 132, Simon Gregg in fourth – 120, and David Pintaric in fifth place – 108 points.
