Amy Ruman Returns to Pilot the McNichols Co. Corvette in 2020 Trans Am Season

After wrapping up the 2019 season at Daytona International Raceway last November and taking home a strong third-place overall finish in the Trans Am Championship Presented by Pirelli, Ruman and the team are eager to start the 2020 season after the winter break. The season opener is scheduled for March 1st at Sebring International Raceway in Florida. The two-time Champion return will return to the series for another title run.

Entering the new decade and their 18th season together, Ruman and team are ecstatic to announce their continued partnership with the McNichols Co., an Industrial and Architectural Hole Product Solutions company. “We are pleased to return for another year of exciting Trans Am racing and are honored to have Amy carry the McNichols brand on the No.23 Corvette once again,” exclaimed Scott McNichols, President at McNichols Co.

“I am truly fortunate and thankful to have McNichols Co. as our primary sponsor for another season! Their steadfast support for our team and the series is incredible. I’m looking forward to a successful year and another chance as scoring a third TA title,” remarked Ruman.

The team also welcomes a new associate sponsor for the season, Cornertech Inc. – CNC Solutions. Cornertech manufactures metal and plastic products for multiple industries including automotive, mining, medical, maritime, robotics, and defense. “We are excited to announce our new partnership with Ruman Racing and are looking forward to climbing aboard the No. 23 Corvette. We have followed Amy’s career throughout the years and are thrilled to support her team and the Trans Am Series.” remarked Steven McNichols, owner of Cornertech. “I am extremely pleased to add Cornertech as an associate sponsor. I can’t thank them enough for coming on board and supporting us,” added Ruman.

“Bob Ruman and the team have been working meticulously all winter on the No. 23 McNichols/Cornertech Chevrolet Corvette and have implemented some changes in expectation of another Championship run. Trans Am is flushed with talented teams and drivers so we are always evolving and pushing forward to be competitive. Consistency and reliability are key so I will be focused on top three finishes at every race,” stated Amy Ruman. “I love starting the season out at Sebring, this track is so iconic, and we have had much success here.”

The Series will join the SVRA Sebring Vintage Classic weekend as part of the 2020 SpeedTour schedule. Fifty-nine competitors are entered across all classes for the Sebring opener at the 3.7-mile road course, with twelve running in Ruman’s TA class. Testing, practices, and qualifying will take place Friday thru Sunday. The TA/XGT/SGT/GT feature race will be Sunday, March 1st at 11:10am followed by the TA2 race Powered by AEM at 1:20pm ET, both races are 100.98-miles, 27-laps.
